i'm currently a phd student at mit's eecs department. i work for at lids, the lab for information and decision systems. i work for vivek goyal in the stir group at rle. i'm playing around with coding theory. my work involved drawing complicated diagrams on the white board in my office and waving my hands vigorously to try to convince unwitting visitors that what i'm saying makes some sense. in order to maximize my efficiency in waving my hands i have acquired a taste for coffee.

this is the third school i've gone to, after purdue first and berkeley second. when i was at berkeley i worked with kannan ramchandran. i guess i like to see new places. if i'm lucky i'll have three diplomas from three different schools, and have volunteer students from all three schools soliciting alumni contribution. with some luck, mit will be the last school i attend as a student.

this past summer i was a visiting researcher at epfl in lausanne, switzerland. i worked with martin vetterli.
